Pop! Art Retrospective

The Pop! Art Retrospective exhibition book was created to collate a personally curated collection of artworks for MoMA, New York. The brief involved creating a new exhibition for MoMA and a publication detailing the collection and advertising to promote it.

The Pop Art movement employs mass production, consumerism, and pop culture to create bold, bright artworks. I wanted to incorporate these elements into my design.

I wanted to incorporate these themes into the publication by using a bright colour palette, bold text and repetition. The Pop! Art Retrospective publication features a clean layout that employs negative space to highlight the artwork. Texture and colour are used to embody the mass production screen-printing of the movement.

I created posters, postcards, stickers, shopping bags and a tote bag for my fictional exhibition. I studied how MoMA New York advertises its exhibitions to create designs that fit its brand.
